BROMSGROVE’s famous status is receiving some TLC after a ‘wobble’ last month.
Residents may notice that the High Street’s AE Housman statue has disappeared but the council has reassured it won’t be for long.
Last month the iconic feature was barriered off with a warning sign after reports that someone was seen climbing the statue.
After initial inspections there was ‘some small movement identified’ and repair work was needed.
Now Housman has disappeared into storage to make sure ‘his base is safe and secure’.
Housman has disappeared – but not for long. We are working to ensure that, when he returns from storage, his base is safe and secure following a wobble last month. #Bromsgrove #Housman #statue pic.twitter.com/YIzhEPWXxv
