AN INQUEST has been concluded into the death of a businessman who was found in the River Severn last year.

James Costello, also known as Jim, was the director of Altered Images on Worcester Road, Bromsgrove.

The 72-year-old went missing on Monday, November 14 from his Worcester home.

Sadly, his body was found in the river at Barneshall, Worcester on December 4 during a police search.

An inquest was scheduled for April 17, but the coroner recorded his verdict early, with the cause of death listed as drowning.

The coroner concluded that Mr Costello died as a result of drowning in the River Severn but it is ‘unclear how or why he came to be in the river in the first place’.
