A POLITICAL party with 'policies to fight the squeeze on workers' income' will be standing in this year's Bromsgrove District Council elections.

The Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) will contest two seats at the local elections on May 4.

Judi Byrne, retired midwife and candidate for Sidemoor, commented: “We cannot continue this way. We cannot afford to. There is plenty of cash in this country but it’s in the wrong hands.

"Councils, Labour, Tory, Lib Dem and Green, have spent over a decade cutting local services, refusing to use their financial powers to resist cuts and fight for the resources local people need.”

Candidate for Hill Top Chloe Leslie said: “For too long a lot of us have seen things around us have continued to get worse.

"We hear about investment in infrastructure yet we see no improvements. Community facilities continue to be cut or privatised."
