MORE than 800 pupils from across Worcestershire took part in an annual Spring games at Bromsgrove School.

Organised by Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire and local school games organisers, the annual Spring Games saw more than 800 children aged four to 14 from 52 schools, from across Worcestershire, battling for the titles of Worcestershire Spring School Games Champion in six different sports.

Stephan Brewster, chief executive officer at Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire said: “Events like the school Games are a brilliant opportunity to showcase a range of sports and activities for children and young people.

"We understand the importance of creating positive experiences for our young people to ensure a lifelong habit of physical activity.

"Looking around at the hundreds of smiling faces here today shows what can be possible working in partnership with our local, community organisations.”

The event was supported by a team of 150 volunteers, from five Worcestershire schools and the University of Worcester.
