A WOMAN has died after a crash on the A38 near Junction 4 of the M5.

The collision happened at around 7.05am on Tuesday, June 20 and involved a black Mini One car on the A38 eastbound.

The car left the road and went down a steep embankment, colliding with a tree.

A 49-year-old woman, the driver, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and sadly died in hospital yesterday (Wednesday, June 21).

The A38 was closed for a period of time on Wednesday afternoon (June 21) while West Mercia Police’s collision investigation team completed their enquiries.

PC Ben Allchurch said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this sad time.

"I would like to appeal for any witnesses to the collision to come forward or anyone who was passing through the area around the time of the collision who may have dash-cam footage”.
