A FORMER café and Post Office in Bromsgrove is set to be converted into a flat.

The Fairfield Café on Stourbridge Road closed last September due to the increased costs of energy bills and materials.

And the Post Office closed in November 2021 due to staff shortages and the effects of the Covid pandemic.

However, now the units are set to become a three-bedroom apartment.

Proposals show the current café area will become an open-plan living and kitchen area; the existing kitchen will become a bedroom along with the former Post Office and a vacant space which will become another two bedrooms.

A section of the former Post Office will also be converted into a bathroom.

Two car parking spaces are set to be installed at the front of the site, with bike storage installed to the side.

Work on the development must begin within three years.
