AN illegal encampment left a playing field over the weekend after an eviction notice was served.
A field off of Steynors Avenue, in Droitwich, had five caravans and associated vehicles set up camp last week.
The traveller group were located at the bottom of the field, not far from the football pitch and playground.
Rob Rich, community safety and enforcement manager for Wychavon District Council, said an eviction notice was granted on Friday, July 7.
He said: “We were made aware of a report of an illegal encampment off Steynor Avenue in Droitwich Spa on Wednesday, July 5.
"Officers went out the same day to complete welfare checks and issued a notice requiring the encampment to move on or court action would follow.
"We then followed our standard process of securing a court date as soon as possible to obtain an eviction notice.
"This was granted on Friday, July 7. The group left the site the following day.”
