HARRY Potter star, Mark Williams, is set to be a special guest at this weekend’s Bromsgrove Carnival.

Taking place at Sanders Park, the two-day carnival will kick off on Friday, July 14 with a cinema evening and culminating in a celebration on Saturday, July 15.

One of the organisers of the event, Natalie Holland, said: “We are thrilled to present the Bromsgrove Carnival, a celebration of community spirit and support for local charities,

“Our aim is to bring joy to families, promote local talent, and make a positive impact on our community. By supporting charities such as Primrose Hospice, Rose and Daisy Foundation, and the
Friends of St Johns, we are contributing to the well-being of our neighbours.

“We invite everyone to join us in creating cherished memories while supporting these worthy causes."

On Friday, families can gather at 5pm to watch Disney’s Encanto and at 8pm the loved classic Grease will be shown.

Throughout the evening, live music will create an ambience while food vendors will be providing a variety of refreshments.

On Saturday, a parade will commence at 12pm which revolves around ‘magic of the movies’ and at the bandstand dance companies will showcase their talent.

Bromsgrove-born Mark Williams, renowned for his roles in Harry Potter and Father Brown will be presenting awards to the winners of the best float entry and walking entry.

Live music will be on offer at Sanders Park and a funfair creating a festival atmosphere.

Road closures

There will be a number of road closures in Bromsgrove town centre this Saturday (July 15) from 12pm for the Bromsgrove Carnival.

Kidderminster Road will be closed between Church Road and Dawson Road between 12pm and 4pm. Disruption is also expected from 12pm to 1pm on School Drive, The Strand, Stratford Road, Market Street and St John Street.
