Firefighters were called to Worcestershire Royal Hospital to what turned out to be a false alarm.

A fire service spokesman said: “Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called out to Charles Hastings Way, Worcester, at 1.18pm today (Tuesday, July 18).

“One Worcester Fire Station crew attended the scene after an alarm was activated.

“But it turned out to be a false alarm with good intent raised due to the smell of cleaning chemicals in use.

“The crew left the scene at 2.33pm.”
