STUDENTS at Catshill Middle School have treated the community to a production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
The drama group has been rehearsing for most of the school year at the end of the day each week and during June and July rehearsal time picked up intensity.
Students from all four year groups, spanning the age of nine to 13 have been involved.
On Monday, July 10 and Wednesday, July 12 45 students performed the long waited shows in front of a packed school hall each evening.
Executive headteacher, Paul Essenhigh said: “The energy, enthusiasm and talent on display was second to none and certainly it is fair to say that “Catshill has got talent”.
“This oozed from all the performers whether they were Wonka, Charlie or an Umpalumpa and we hope that many of these students will continue with the love of drama, the arts and acting.
“The commitment demonstrated by the staff team each week to make this happen was amazing and the students asked that this should be noted.”
Mr Essenhigh thanked the David Morgan Trust which has been an ‘avid supporter’ of events at the school over the years and supports term time arts.
