A FAMILY-RUN business is expanding to a bigger office in Bromsgrove.

Browns Outdoors has moved to Harris Business Park in Stoke Prior to help take its roof rack and top box business nationwide.

Stefan Brown who runs the business, said: “The offices are great and there’s the added benefit of the woods over the road.

"Customers often take their dogs for a walk over there while we are fitting the racks – and I take our two Labradors a couple of times a day too.”

The move means a big shift in gear for the business, which specialises in the high-end Thule range of roof bars, bike racks, roof boxes and rooftop tents, and follows a period of rapid growth.

“We’ve only been going three years,” said Stefan.

“I was selling photocopiers when Covid hit and found myself furloughed. I started out fitting towbars and then branched out into top boxes and racking.

“By the time Covid was over, I decided to pursue the business full time.

“We started off with some small offices on Saxon Business Park in Bromsgrove but started looking for bigger, more prominent premises.”

With the help of commercial property agents John Truslove, a two-year tenancy deal for Browns Outdoors for the ground floor office space was secured.

Mr Brown added: “There are three of us on the team now and we have room to hold stock and carry out fitting work.

“We also launched our website at the start of June which means we are now trading nationwide, not just locally. As a result, growth has been incredible.”

Ben Truslove of agents John Truslove said: “It is always very satisfying to help a fledgling business take the next step on its journey.

“This was an important move for Brown Outdoors and sets them on the right track for further growth.”
