Barnt Green won by 60 runs
SKIPPER Dougie Brown kept his side on top of the Birmingham and District League Premier Division, as Barnt Green sealed victory in a thrilling last-ball climax.
Brown fired in a yorker to skittle Jack Hawkes with the final ball of the match, as Leamington appeared to be holding out for a losing draw.
Earlier in the day, Green had been put in to bat and their top order built a solid platform.
Nathan Newport made 48, while Richard Hall (54) produced a solid innings.
Both men were eventually dismissed by Neil Smith, Leamington's biggest threat, who finished with figures of 2-47.
Stuart Shephard (46) and Dai Williams (33 not out) continued to pile on the runs. When Shephard fell, Paul Bedford came to the crease for a final onslaught.
Bedford finished on 43 not out, smashing four sixes in one over along the way.
In Leamington's innings, Hall and Phil Mann starred with the ball for Barnt Green.
Mann took 4-84 from his 21 overs, while Hall capped a brilliant individual performance with both bat and ball by taking 3-28.
The match, however, will be remembered for Brown's dramatic last ball wicket to wrap up the points.
In Division Two, Ombersley took 13 points from their draw with Smethwick.
The side, who are now second, posted 197-9 from their 55 overs, while Smethwick managed 177-8.
