Staff and residents at a care home in Bromsgrove have welcomed the local MP and former Health Secretary back to its premises.

Burcot Grange and Lodge, a luxury all-inclusive care home which is part of the Berkely Care Group, had the honour of hosting MP Sajid Javid on September 9 after one of its residents, who has a personal connection to the MP, expressed her wish to see him again.

General manager at Burcot Grange and Lodge Vicky Osborne said: “We were truly honoured to welcome Mr. Javid to Burcot Grange and Lodge. His visit brought immense joy to our residents and staff, and his genuine warmth and engagement in meaningful conversations left a mark on our community.

“I am proud of the Burcot team who made this possible. We are immensely grateful for his gracious presence and the positive impact he had on everyone here.”

The main reason for the MP’s visit was to help him reconnect with the Burcot community and reminisce about his previous visit to one of its garden parties.

Mr Javid was treated to a guided tour of the facilities and joined 15 residents for afternoon tea in the conservatory where the group had the opportunity to ask the MP questions about Covid-19, local concerns, the recent prisoner escape incident and the state of Bromsgrove.

The feedback was said to be “overwhelmingly positive” with residents appreciating the chance to meet and connect with a public figure and gain insight into his views.
