A BROMSGROVE-based battery manufacturer has collapsed into administration - making 11 employees redundant.

The award-winning technology company Aceleron, located at Leask House off Hanbury Road, has been trading since 2016 as an innovative UK-based lithium battery developer.

The company aimed to accelerate the global shift to cleaner, more renewable energy.

Due to challenges in securing further investment, the company was no longer able to meet its financial obligations and was placed into administration.

Martyn Rickels and Simon Farr of specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators to Aceleron Limited on 12th September 2023.

The joint administrators are now in the process of marketing the company and its assets for sale.

They have confirmed that all 11 employees have been made redundant shortly following their appointment.

Simon Farr, Director at FRP and Joint administrator of Aceleron Limited, said: “Aceleron had sought further investment this year to support growth plans and further scale the business, however given the challenging investment climate, this was not forthcoming.

“We would encourage any parties with an interest in acquiring the business or its assets to make contact with us as soon as possible.

"We will continue to work with the impacted staff to make sure they access the appropriate support through the Redundancy Payments Service.”
