A Bromsgrove care home receptionist has been left delighted after being shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Diane Riach, who has worked at Cofton Park Manor Care Home since it opened in January, is thrilled about reaching the West Midlands regional finals in the Great British Care Awards.
She said: “I love my job here at Cofton Park Manor and it is wonderful to meet and greet everyone who comes through our doors.
“Cofton Park Manor is home to all of us and we are very fortunate to have such amazing residents supported by a lovely staff team.”
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK celebrating excellence across the care sector.
Ms Riach has been shortlisted in the Ancillary Worker category which recognises those who offer an excellent person-centred service to clients and recognise the importance of showing pride in their work.
The receptionist handles a high volume of phone calls each day as well as arranges all the hair, nail, barber, chiropodist and optician appointments each week and helps with activities over the weekend to ensure residents feel supported.
Ms Riach added: “A key part of the job is to treat everyone with respect and ensure that everyone feels good about every aspect of the service we provide.
“I cannot wait to go along on the night and to meet others who are committed to the care sector.”
There are 21 categories representing all areas of the social care sector with the West Midlands finals being held on Saturday, November 4 at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
