A host of festive fun is in store for Rubery as the annual Christmas light switch-on event returns.
The countdown celebrations will start on Saturday, November 25 on New Road with street theatre performances and singers on the main stage as well as roaming Christmas elves and Santa to greet the children of the village.
Ward member for Rubery South, Esther Gray, said: “The Rubery Christmas light switch-on event is a heart-warming tradition illuminating not only our community but also our spirits with infectious Christmas joy.”
Ward member for Rubery North, Peter McDonald, added: “We invite everyone across the district to join us at the Rubery switch-on where you can experience the magic of the season and create wonderful memories with your families, friends and fellow residents.
“It’s an event you won’t want to miss.”
The festivities will build up to the big light switch-on event from 3pm to 5pm with more details of performance times and vendors being available on the council website or the Facebook event pages.
Bromsgrove District Council cabinet member for leisure, Steven Colella, said: “This wonderful, free event is one of our most popular and is a key highlight in our social calendar helping families across the district mark the start of the magical Christmas period.”
