A special party was hosted by a Bromsgrove care home to mark a noteworthy occasion.

Care UK's Chandler Court, on Recreation Road, opened its doors to the community to celebrate its sixth anniversary with a 'royal knees up'.

Guests dressed in red, white and blue paid homage to the town's royal history.

Visitors, residents and staff were treated to a live musical performance from local singer Karl, featuring a range of hits from Elvis, the Beatles and Meatloaf.

A celebratory buffet was presented by the care home's head chef, a spread that included a special birthday cake for everyone to share.

Chandler Court resident Ann Willis said: "The party had a great atmosphere with everyone participating in the afternoon’s fun.

"The food was wonderful, and we all enjoyed the singer."

Tina Lilly, home manager at the care home, added: "We couldn’t have celebrated our sixth birthday in a better way - – it’s safe to say we gave all our guests and residents the royal treatment.

"We’re so proud of everything we’ve accomplished in the past six years – from hosting exciting events such as our Summertime Festival and Wonderland Tea Party to welcoming a host of local pupils for fun activities."

The care home provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, and even short-term respite care.
