Voluntary, charitable, and community groups in the Bromsgrove District can apply for a £1,000 grant to support their projects.

The Equality Small Grants Scheme, run by Bromsgrove District Council, aims to support activities that challenge inequality, promote equality, and celebrate diversity.

These grants are designed for smaller organisations who often face difficulty meeting larger funding criteria.

The funding available for this year's grant scheme totals £10,000, to help these groups turn their projects into reality.

Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, Councillor Karen May, said: "The types of projects that these grants support are important to furthering equality and celebrating diversity in the Bromsgrove District.

"These grants enable smaller organisations, who often find themselves ineligible to apply for larger grants, the opportunity to secure funding to make their ideas a reality.

"This is key to enabling these groups to grow and achieve their aims within the District."

The deadline to apply for the grant is midday on April 9.

In the past, these projects have supported older people, young people, individuals with a disability, members of the LGBT community, and various race and religious groups.

After April and May's approval and shortlisting process, funds will be available by June 1.

The grant can be used for projects delivered in the financial year of 2024/25, which runs until March 31, 2025.

The application form and further details are available on the council's website.
