Under a week remains for community groups to apply for an up to £1,000 grant.

All voluntary, charitable, and community Bromsgrove-based organisations have until midday on Tuesday, April 9 to apply for a grant from Bromsgrove District Council's Equality Small Grants Scheme.

Aimed at supporting projects that challenge inequality, advance equality, or celebrate diversity, the scheme aims to bolster community projects.

The Policy Team at the council said: "With just under a week to go until applications close for this year’s Equality Small Grants Scheme, we are encouraging all local organisations to look at the eligibility criteria of the scheme to see if they have a project that could benefit from the funding."

After the deadline, organisations must deliver their projects before March 31, 2025.

The team added: "This is the fifth year that the Equality Small Grants Scheme has run, in previous years we’ve seen projects that have helped support older people, young people, men, women, people with a disability, members of the LGBT community, and different race and religious groups.

"We look forward to seeing the ideas for projects which are submitted this year."

With a total budget of £10,000, the scheme is designed to help smaller organisations "make their projects reality".
