AN investigation into a 'dine and dash' incident involving six women at a countryside pub in Worcestershire has been closed.
The group were captured on CCTV at the Wheelbarrow Castle and Country Pub on Alcester Road, Radford, near Worcester scarpering after not paying for their meal.
They allegedly stuck their fingers up at staff as they left the pub having managed to dodge paying for a £140 bill.
The incident took place on Saturday, March 23 at around 5pm.
Staff claimed the group left in two separate cars with one described as a dark blue 4x4 and the other a dark coloured VW Golf.
The pub contacted West Mercia Police who confirmed it had received a report of the theft.
But while police investigated the incident, no suspects have been identified.
Although the case has been closed, police are willing to reopen an investigation if further information becomes available.
West Mercia Police said: "The crime was investigated as far as reasonably possible, but no suspects were identified.
"The case has been closed, however should further information become available this would be investigated."
Wheelbarrow Castle Country Pub owner Sarah Hutchins said the pub had to make up losses after the 'dine and dash'.
She added that incidents such as this have contributed to the struggle pubs are going through in the current cost of living crisis and that the pub had taken a "big hit" as a result.
