THE proposed expansion of services at a dentist surgery would provide a ‘valued addition’ for residents.

This is the view of applicant Dr Andrew Brown, the owner and principal dentist at Grappenhall Dental Practice.

Plans have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department for a single-storey side extension at the Knutsford Road site.

This would replace an existing car port and storage area, which would be demolished, and create one part-time role, on top of the existing four full-time employees.

Plans state: “The proposed development is to give additional floor space to create a ground floor treatment room and internal store room.

“This is to be used in conjunction with the existing business run from this property.

“The access to these new rooms is from within the existing property by creating new internal access doors off from the hall area.

“The existing car port and storage area on the land is to be demolished and removed from the site as part of the construction phase, due its poor condition.

“The proposed development size and location have been taken into consideration, and the location of all adjacent properties, in minimising any impact that may have been imposed.”

Documents also state: “Dr Brown has owned and operated this commercial property for several years in a very professional and courteous manner to the people of Grappenhall.

“This addition to the dental surgery aims to provide a valued addition to the town of Grappenhall.

“The additional floor space to be created is being done with a view to providing a much-needed additional dental treatment room.

“This is to meet the ever-increasing needs for additional dental treatment appointments of the town of Grappenhall and surrounding areas.

“Careful consideration has been adapted in the design of the development so as not to adversely damage the environment, visually, economically and ethically.”
