This photo from March 1965 shows the view down Newport Street in Bolton towards Victoria Square.
On the right you can see the Railway Hotel which was on the corner of Trinity Street.
The pub, originally the Railway Tavern, had been around since the 1860s and its proximity to the Trinity Street Station played a key role in its longevity.
But by 1973 the pub closed and would then be demolished. Do you remember the Railway Tavern?
