A POPULAR award-winning florist has moved out of Droitwich due to "extremely expensive" costs.

Bluebells Florist has been a staple in the town for around ten years after owner Tanya Ellis opened it initially on Queen Street.

It had then moved onto the High Street and then St Andrew's Street, where it remained until the store revealed that it has now moved to Stoke Prior.

Ms Ellis and the team said the cost of running a business in Droitwich is extremely expensive and time has been tough for everybody.

The inside of the business in Droitwich is completely empty.

A sign on the former St Andrew's Street store window reads: "We have moved to a new Floral Studio in Stoke Prior.

"As many of you are aware, the cost of running a business in the town is extremely expensive, and time has been tough for everybody.

"Although we are sad to leave town, by moving to a studio, we are able to reduce our overheads and continue to provide quality flowers without raising our prices.

"Flower deliveries and preordered collections will be available Monday to Friday and wedding consultations will be by appointment only on Saturdays.

"We would like to thank you all for your continued support.

"From Tanya and the Bluebells Team."

Bluebells Florist was formed in 2014 and covers areas like Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Worcester and surrounding areas.

The store is now at the Canalside Craft Centre on Hanbury Road.

The florist had previously won Worcestershire Florist of the Year in 2017
