Submissions are now open for three new arts projects which celebrate heritage.

The projects form part of the Sharing Stories element of the ReNEW scheme (Rediscover North East Worcestershire), which works with young people and emerging talent.

The three opportunities include Wagons Roll, Awe and Wander, and Gateway to Nature, each focused on a different branch of the arts.

Councillor Shirley Webb, Bromsgrove District Council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, leisure and culture, said: "These three tenders are just the beginning of many fantastic opportunities to celebrate Bromsgrove’s proud heritage through the ReNEW programme.

"Giving local young people the chance to work alongside established arts professionals and help shape something fresh and exciting."

Wagons Roll falls under performing arts, Gateway to Nature under visual arts, and Awe and Wander under digital arts.

Each project is about celebrating and exploring a key part of the area’s identity.

Petro Nicolaides, chair of the cultural compact for North East Worcestershire, said: "We want to spotlight the extraordinary heritage within our areas and engage the creativity of our communities.

"It’s not just about the outcomes though; it’s about increasing pride, bringing together communities, and nurturing young new talent in the creative sector."

The successful applicants will work with ReNEW from May 2026 until September 2027 and will be expected to create tangible outcomes, deliver skills workshops for young people, contribute to the development of apprentices, and practice co-creation with a dedicated group of young people.

The projects aim to strengthen the cultural sector while developing the confidence and skills of the next generation of creative professionals.
