A WORCESTERSHIRE author has released the latest instalment in her historical fiction series inspired by Anglo-Saxon England.

S M Hinton, who grew up in Wychbold, has published Vikrin Revenge, the second book in her Mercia Chronicles trilogy. The novel was released on May 29 by Redditch-based publisher Brewin Books.

Set in the ancient kingdom of Mercia, the story follows a period of fragile peace disrupted by the return of a former enemy. As alliances shift and betrayals emerge, the fate of the kingdom rests on a single leader facing an impossible choice.

Hinton said her writing is driven by a long-standing fascination with British history and the people who shaped it.

The paperback book is priced at £9.95 and runs to 460 pages.

Brewin Books, based in Enfield Industrial Estate in Redditch, specialises in regional and historical titles.
