SINGER-songwriter Graham Parker is set to bring his autumn 2026 tour to Bromsgrove this year, with a solo show at Artrix on Friday, September 25.

The gig forms part of a special run of dates marking the 50th anniversary of his debut album Howlin’ Wind and follow-up Heat Treatment, both released with his band The Rumour in 1976 and long regarded as landmark records of the late 1970s British rock scene.

Armed with his trademark guitar and gravelly, soulful vocals, Parker will revisit songs from across his career, from his early work with The Rumour – including classics such as Howlin’ Wind, Heat Treatment, and Squeezing Out Sparks – to his later solo albums The Up Escalator, Another Grey Area and The Mona Lisa’s Sister.

Known for sharp, literate lyrics and a sound rooted in rock, R&B and soul, he has been described as a 'songwriter’s songwriter', with Rolling Stone once observing that Parker 'owed more to Dylan and Van Morrison than to his punk counterparts'.

This year’s anniversary has also inspired a new book, Graham Parker: Howlin’ Wind, by writer Jay Nachman, drawing on interviews with Parker, members of The Rumour and producer Nick Lowe, to explore the stories behind the songs.

Fans can also look forward to a limited-edition live album recorded in England with The Goldtops and backing vocalists The Lady Bugs, released on vinyl in May 2026 as part of the celebrations.

Further information and tickets are available from the Artrix Bromsgrove website.
