RESIDENTS can scoop £500 this autumn as housing experts hit the road with a series of special open days.

Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (BDHT) resident involvement team has already held a number of events to find out what residents want from their area and also enable people to find out more about the services on offer.

It is continuing its journey across the district in coming weeks to enable residents to get help on their doorstep. All those who attend can enter into a free prize draw to be in with a chance of winning £500.

All residents, including non-tenants, are invited to attend to meet their local housing officer, get financial advice, money saving tips, greener-living pointers and more information on BDHT’s development work and services. Information on improvement work in their area and homes for rent and shared ownership will also be available.

Sally Rivers, resident involvement manager, said: “Every year we have an event to involve the community in our work and give them the chance to provide feedback on our homes, services and their community.

“This year we thought we would head out to different areas to make it as simple as possible for residents to pop along when it suits them. We’ve held two events so far, one in Charford and another in Stoke Prior, and they were both very well attended.

Open days are at the hall behind NewSong Community Church, in Broad Street, on Thursday, October 16, and Catshill Village Hall, in Golden Cross Lane, on Monday, October 20, from 1pm-6.15pm.
