A BROMSGROVE building has won a prestigious design award for a new build.
The oak framed double garage and loft space, at Withybrook Cottage in Dusthouse Lane, Tardebigge, has been given the prize for new build in the Bromsgrove Society’s Architectural Awards for 2009.
Designers set out to create a structure which was practical, but able to blend in and contribute to the rural landscape and its surroundings.
All the materials used in the building’s construction were sourced locally, and Bromsgrove craftsmen Peter and Roger Banner helped construct the building on the site.
Joint owner, Ann Wheeler-Vine, said they were very proud to receive the award.
The overall winner of the awards, named at the society’s annual general meeting held on July 2, was South Bromsgrove High School, in Charford Road, for their £20m school.
