A STOKE HEATH care home has increased its support for residents with the opening of a new dementia care unit.
The Bupa owned, Heathbrook House care home in Worcester Road, has been offering care to older people since it opened in 2007. The new unit is designed to offer special care to residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, and staff have also been given extra training to help provide support.
On August 7, an official opening of the unit was held with a visit from Elaine Ivis, area manager of the West Midlands Alzheimer’s Society.
Jeanette Lyons, activities co-ordinator at the care home, said staff and residents enjoyed the official opening, which included entertainment and food.
