WEEKS of anxious waiting end today as teenagers are finding out if they have the A-level grades they need to go on to their university or career of choice.
While for many local youngsters it will be a time of relief and elation, there is lots of advice available on what to do next for those whose results fall short.
UCAS, the universities and colleges admissions service, is operating a helpline on 08714 680468 between 7am and 7pm from today. There will also be updates on its Twitter feeds and ucas.com.
Meanwhile, independent advice on the full range of post-exam options is available from the Exam Results Helpline on 08081 008000. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm today.
