Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council are hosting a special "Meet Your Buyers" event on Tuesday, October 8 at the Three Counties Showground, to encourage social enterprises to do business with them.

The event will highlight the many opportunities to sell to the two councils and their partners.

Attendees will gain vital information that will enable them to understand the councils' processes and explain how to bid for business and be procurement-ready.

The event runs from 10am – 3pm and will involve networking opportunities and one-to-one "Meet Your Buyer" sessions with council commissioners, which can be pre-booked online. The sessions last a0 minutes and will cover a variety of categories such as Adults' Services, ICT Services, Children's Services and Transport Services. Light buffet lunch is also included.

While the event is aimed primarily at social enterprises, attendees from voluntary and community organisations and local companies who currently don't trade with public sector organisations but want to learn how to do business with them are also welcome.

Simon Geraghty Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure, said: "Worcestershire County Council has recently signed up to become a Social Enterprise Champion and we are keen to encourage social enterprises to do business with us.

"We're delighted to be co-hosting this event with Herefordshire Council and to be sharing our joint expertise with attendees.

"We anticipate this will be a popular event and places are limited, so I'd encourage interested organisations to register online as soon as possible."
