Worcestershire County Council is seeking expressions of interest to explore the future provision of its property design services.

As part of its move to become an excellent commissioning-based authority, the councill is looking at the potential to procure all of its future property and construction related design services from a single source.

An open information morning for qualified providers is being held at The Hive in Worcester on Monday, October 14 from 9am – noon.

There will be a formal presentation from the council's property design team, showcasing their current work and future plans, and the opportunity for attendees to explore the background to the proposal.

Following the open session, there will be the possibility to book one-to-one appointments with council officers on Wednesday, October 16 from 11am until 4pm. These will be 45-minute slots that will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Councillor John Campion, Cabinet Member for Transformation and Commissioning, said: "We would like, at this tentative stage, to talk to possible providers in the marketplace and find out what might be the most attractive way of putting together a potential future tender for our property design services.

"We are hoping this exercise will provide us with an opportunity to gain insight in to how this service may be delivered in the future. We have an award-winning property design team that have gained national recognition for innovative, sustainable design and who could ultimately transfer to any new provider.

"The open morning on October 14 is a great opportunity for interested organisations to have an informal discussion with our property design team and find out more about our proposals."
