IT'S World Book Day, and children from schools across the Bromsgrove district have been dressing up as their favourite literary characters.
The annual celebration of authors, illustrators and reading is marked in more than 100 countries around the world.
Pupils at Play Days Playgroup in Rednal have been celebrating literature all week, creating their own books and marks.
Playgroup leader Jules Kite-Lightfoot said: "We want the youngsters to enjoy and explore books which will aid their communication skills whilst having fun exploring their favourite and new books.
"Fancy dress also makes for expanding the little ones' imaginations so they do not just stick to stereotypes and promotes social skills."
