TWO long serving members of staff have said an emotional goodbye to a Bromsgrove school.

Headteacher Jenny Bottrill, and teacher, Sylvia Machin, gave a fond farewell to Charford First School after retiring at the end of last term.

Both started at the school 21-years-ago, and Sylvia was Jenny’s first appointment when she became headteacher. During their time at the Charford Road-based school the pair have helped bring in many new initiatives.

Jenny and Sylvia say they both plan to spend their well earned retirement seeing more of their families, and travelling.

Jenny said: “Charford First School is a very special place.

“It has been a great joy and privilege to work for so long in such a wonderful environment with excellent staff and governors, and fantastic children and their families.”
