AWARD-winning long-distance runner Jo Pavey MBE is calling on residents to make it their new year's resolution to sign up for the Stroke Association's Resolution Run.

The 42-year-old world, European and Commonwealth medalist is supporting the event at Hagley Hall on Sunday, April 22, to raise vital funds for the Bromsgrove-based charity.

Jo Pavey said: "You don’t have to be a medal-winning athlete to take on a Resolution Run for the Stroke Association.

"These events are ideal for people who are putting on their trainers for their first charity run, through to more experienced runners.

"The added bonus is that the funds you raise will help even more people recover from a devastating stroke."

The run is open to people of all ages and abilities, and participants are welcome to run, jog or walk either 5k, 10k or 15k to the finish line.

Claire Pell, community and events fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: "A Resolution Run is exactly that – a resolution for the new year that counts.

"It's the ideal event for families and friends in Hagley who want to do something fun together while getting more active in 2018."

The money raised from the event will help the Stroke Association to fund important research and support people affected by stroke in Bromsgrove, and across the Midlands.

Entry costs £16, which includes a technical running t-shirt and medal.
