During the UK lockdown, thousands of people are planning to cook at home and learn a number of new dishes.

We've put together a list of the best cooking shows you can stream on Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime.

  • Chef’s Table

This Emmy-nominated series on Netflix features 11 world renowned chefs, some of whom have headed restaurants on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

What makes this show so special is that it isn't merely a factual watch but also an emotional one, with the chefs sharing how their personal styles developed.

With six seasons to date, there is plenty to binge on and a variety of inspiring meals to be made.

  • Tasty

Buzzfeed’s Tasty provides quick and easy to follow videos, making great cooking ideas more accessible than ever.

It’s particularly useful for quick, creative bakes, perfect for spicing up your life and of course, your instagram feed.

  • Chef’s A’field

For something a bit different to the usual cooking show format, this documentary series on Amazon Prime spans four seasons.

It follows chefs from well known restaurants as they go back to the source, meeting farmers, fishermen and foragers and gaining new ideas for sustainable cooking.

  • Bon Appétit

This vastly popular cooking channel on YouTube has racked up over five million subscribers across the world.

Describing themselves as a ‘highly opinionated food brand’ their aim is to spread their passion for cooking to as many people as possible.

The channel is varied, offering lessons on intricate gourmet dishes, simple to follow guides, as well as celebrity cooking challenges featuring the likes of Natalie Portman and Gordon Ramsay.

  • Nailed it

Available on Netflix, this is a cooking show with a twist: namely its sheer hilarity.

Ordinary people who are not particularly talented in the kitchen take on a bake-off style challenge to recreate edible masterpieces.

As expected, the results don’t always go to plan, but the amateur chef that most accurately recreates the piece gets to take home a hefty cash prize of $10,000.

This is a great one to watch if you’ve been doubting your own cooking skills.

  • Street Food

From the creators of Chef’s Table, this documentary series in nine parts will take you all over the world, from Thailand to Japan, Indonesia, South Korea and Vietnam to name a few.

Visiting some of the world’s most incredible cities, this show explores the vast variety of street food culture found across the globe and emphasises the importance of conserving it.
