A BURGLARY was thwarted in Cofton Hackett in the early hours of Thursday morning – thanks to a clever pet pooch who alerted their owner.
The offenders made their way to the rear of the victim’s property on Hurricane Avenue between 3.20am and 3.30am on Thursday, August 10, via a side entrance.
They attempted to snap the rear kitchen patio door locking mechanism, but the homeowners’ dog spotted the danger and began barking.
The barks alerted the homeowner to the attempted burglary and as they got out of bed to investigate the house alarm was activated.
The offenders ran off to the front of the house and drove off in a car at high speed.
Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 061s.
