INTREPID fundraisers from a Stourport computer company raised thousands of pounds after completing a sponsored run in aid of a hospice.

A team of 26 from OGL Computer challenged themselves in the Wolf Run, where they ran 10k through mud, lakes and woodland, and have raised a total of £4,600 for St Richard’s Hospice.

Each team member faced a series of obstacles, where they ran, swam, jumped and crawled their way to the end of the course.

Paul Colwell, Chief Technology Officer at OGL, said: “The team was made up of staff with a diverse range of fitness levels, so it was really great to see the stronger members of the team supporting their colleagues all the way round.

“The whole team completed the course and gave everyone a chance to really push themselves whilst raising money for a very worthy local charity which has personal connections to many of our staff.

“Those that didn’t take part showed their support by sponsoring their colleagues, so it was a true company affair.

“I’d definitely recommend the event to others, it was great fun!”

OGL Computer have chosen St Richard’s as its charity of the year and are getting involved in more activities to support the charity, such as the Severn Valley Walk on Saturday, October 13.

Ria Simons, Fundraiser at St Richard’s, said: “We have been blown away by the support OGL has given us and are in awe of the team taking on such a tough challenge for our care.

“Every penny raised will go to supporting our free, specialist care to patients living with life-limiting illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people.

“On behalf of everyone here at St Richard’s, I’d like to say a big thank you to the OGL team.”
