'RUSTY returners' are wanted by a Stourbridge orchestra which will hold an Armistice concert at the Town Hall next week.
Stourbridge Choir and Orchestra is hoping to attract new members who used to play an instrument or sing and want to take it up again.
The orchestra - which has been performing concerts for more than 130 years, having been founded in 1884 - is recruiting string and brass players and singers.
It rehearses weekly on a Monday evening at 7.30pm in the Unicorn Centre, Brettell Lane, Amblecote with all ages welcome.
The choir is also recruiting new members - it rehearses at Gigmill Church, Glebe Lane, on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm.
Currently, both groups are preparing for the Armistice concert being held on Saturday, October 27.
The performance will feature songs from the music halls and trenches such as Jerusalem, Keep The Home Fires Burning and Pack Up Your Troubles as well as Holst’s Mars and Venus from The Planets.
For more information on joining the groups or for details on tickets for the concert, visit www.stourcos.org.uk, call 01384 373111 or email stourbridgechoirandorchestra@hotmail.com
