KIND youngsters from a Wolverley school did their bit to help others in need during a week-long celebration of harvest.
The theme of Heathfield Knoll’s harvest assembly was ‘giving to others in need’ and included generous contributions from Early Years to Year 11 pupils.
These included the donations of food and toiletries which has been given to Wyre Forest Nightstop and food bank charities.
Judith Ford, manager at Wyre Forest Nightstop, said: “What a great opportunity to encourage the children at Heathfield Knoll School to help the homeless and their community all year round.”
Reverend Bridget Woodall from St John the Baptist’s Church, Wolverley, gave an insightful address all about sharing and giving.
Students also enjoyed lunches made with locally sourced food, including produce dug fresh from the allotments on the same day while they were also challenged to eat healthily by a visit from a nutritionist. They also completed workshops including making their own hummus wraps.
Head teacher Lawrence Collins said: “The school was keen to continue to offer support to local charities and would be inviting Judith back into school to talk about the invaluable work they do with young adults locally.
