THE race to be named the best duck house in Bewdley is hotting up as the competition draws to a close.

Thousands of visitors have viewed the 36 designs on display at Jubilee Gardens and more than 700 votes have been cast as part of The Bewdley Duck House Project.

But organisers said there is currently no overall winner and urged people to have their say before the weekend deadline and help crown the best of the bunch.

This is the third time the project has been held in the town and forms part of Bewdley Festival. The houses were created by the Emily Jordan Foundation with proceeds going to the charity which helps people with learning difficulties.

Project co-ordinator Colin Hill said: “People have the last chance to vote for their favourite duck house this Saturday (October 27).

“Over 700 votes have been cast but there is no overall winner so all votes up to Saturday are very important.

“The 36 duck houses have been remodelled or decorated by local people and viewed by thousands of people over the month including many visitors from outside Worcestershire.”

Mr Hill added Rob Hamp will be at the Gardens’ Gallery from 11am on Sunday to discuss his unique exhibition which is currently on display there.
