A CRADLEY Heath building site manager is celebrating after cementing a top a national award in the 'Oscars of the housebuilding industry'.

Luke Darby has won a prestigious 'Pride in the Job' honour from the National House-Building Council (NHBC).

The 31-year-old site manager works at Barratt Homes West Midlands' Norton Farm development in Bromsgrove.

He said: “This was my first Pride in the Job Award and it felt fantastic to be recognised for my hard work and commitment to producing high quality new homes.”

Now in their 38th year the 'Pride in the Job' awards recognise the very best site managers from around the country, with 450 winners chosen each year out of typically more than 16,000 entries.

Every winner has been rigorously assessed during the past 12 months across 37 areas, including their technical knowledge, quality controls, consistency, health and safety and customer service.
