ONE of the UK’s most celebrated and popular Spiritualist churches has celebrated a historic year by launching a brand new website and taking part in Stourbridge’s Remembrance Day procession for the first-time ever.

Stourbridge Spiritualist Church has celebrated the launch of an all-new website and this year marks the first time the church has been invited to take part in Remembrance Day celebrations in its almost-100-year history.

Kath Garrad, elected president of the church, who took part in the procession in Mary Stevens Park and laid a wreath on behalf of the church, said: “It was a real honour to be part of the Remembrance Day service on behalf of Stourbridge Spiritualist Church, and to lay a wreath in memory of all those who fought and sacrificed so much for us all.

“It was particularly moving with it being the centenary, and it was inspiring to see so many of the local community coming out to mark such a special occasion.

“It was also of special significance being the first time our church has been invited to take part, and I know I speak on behalf of our committee and all our members when I extend my thanks to all involved at Dudley Council and the Royal British Legion for making it possible.”

Kyle Pedley, who designed and built the church’s new website, said: "I think everyone at Stourbridge saw this special year, with the World Congress of Spiritualism and other international events here in the UK, as the perfect chance to launch a new online presence and to really bring their church into the modern, digital age.

“Their old site was built way back at the turn of the millennium and was very outdated, so it was really exciting to build them a sleek, responsive and modern new site that also allows for modern practicalities, like booking tickets to demonstrations and events ahead of time.”
