MORE couples than ever before are choosing to tie the knot and celebrate their wedding at Kidderminster Town Hall.

Last year a record 70 couples decided to get married in the Grade 2 listed building’s historic surroundings. Kidderminster Town Hall is also hosting more wedding receptions, with 12 couples choosing it for their wedding reception in 2018, making it one of the fastest growing wedding destinations in the district.

On Sunday, February 3, the town hall will host a wedding fair to showcase the building, which also houses the district’s registration service.

Kidderminster Town Hall has five main rooms that are fully licensed for weddings and receptions.

The wedding fair will take place between 11am and 3pm and, as well as having a tour of the building, couples will also be able to discuss their big day with the town hall's dedicated wedding coordinator Jo Bowkett.

Couples will have the opportunity to meet and discuss their needs with other wedding suppliers.

Kidderminster Town Hall is one of two venues making up Wyre Forest Heritage Weddings, with the other being Bewdley Museum.

Wyre Forest cabinet member for culture, leisure and community protection, Councillor Juliet Smith, said: “Kidderminster Town Hall is a beautiful Victorian building and together with Bewdley Museum offer couples a unique choice of settings for their big day as part of our Wyre Forest Heritage Weddings brand.

“We are very proud of the service we provide to couples on their most special of days and all our staff really do go the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly.

“The wedding fair at Kidderminster Town Hall will allow grooms and brides-to-be to appreciate its full potential and couples will also have the opportunity to meet staff from the registration service and discuss their requirements with our wedding co-ordinator.”

Jon and Gill Pendrous, who chose Kidderminster Town Hall for their wedding and reception last September, said: “We were absolutely delighted with how well it went and the hard work put in by the team.

“What a fabulous venue Kidderminster Town Hall is – I can’t think of a better place to get married.”

A selection of quality wedding suppliers will be showcasing all the latest trends at the wedding fair and a fashion show hosted by Kemp Hospice will take place at 1pm.
