A REWARD is being offered for information that leads to the return of sentimental jewellery, worth around £10,000, which was stolen during a burglary in Kidderminster on Thursday evening.

Burglars broke into the house in Firs Close by smashing the glass on the conservatory door between between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on January 17.

A safe which was drilled to a bedroom wall and concealed by a cupboard was stolen, containing around £10,000 worth of jewellery, including two charm bracelets, Tiffany earrings and diamond earrings, as well as passports, credit cards, a wedding certificate and birth certificates.

Homeowner Sadie Gill, who returned home to find the safe missing at around 11pm, said: "The jewellery is incredibly sentimental - specifically a charm bracelet which contained around 20 charms. Each one is very unique and was bought for me by people I love."

She added: "Nothing else was stolen. There's a television and laptop in the lounge and an iPad next to the bed in our bedroom but it looks like they headed straight to the safe in the spare bedroom. Whether they knew where it was or hit pot luck, we don't know."

Police and forensics teams have since visited the property and Sadie and her husband Dominic are offering a reward for anyone who provides information that leads to the recovery of the jewellery.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers are keen for people who witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time to come forward."

Anyone with information is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 569s.
