TO celebrate its 45th anniversary, The Alcester Male Voice Choir will be holding a special event later this year.

The group will be performing at Worcester Cathedral on May 11.

The concert theme is "music for everyone" and this is reflected in the programme put together by choir founder and director of music Judith Land BEM.

Songs will include This Is The Moment, Land of Music, Aint Misbehavin, Zum Sanctus, I'm Goin Up Yonder, Tell My Father, World In Union, Hey Jude, Fly Me To The Moon, Beyond The Blue Horizon, and many others.

The choir will be supported on stage by a host of talent, including principle accompanist Elliott Rooney, Christopher Allsop on the organ, Sara de Visser soprano, Epsie Thompson on flute, and Lizzie Parkes on guitar.

Concert tickets have been released in two phases and due to popular demand the first phase sold out in just a few weeks.

Phase two, which is the balance of the remaining tickets are now on sale, and these are in the rear Nave of the Cathedral priced at £18 each.

Coach transport is also available from Alcester, Redditch, and Henley in Arden at just £8.50 return.
