POLICE have issued a warning to home-owners in Alcester after a spate of burglaries in the area in the recent weeks.

Officers have been urging residents to keep their properties secure and remain alert, following the crime wave.

A police spokesman said: "The majority of burglary offences that have occurred in Alcester Town over the last few weeks have occurred overnight and probably in the early hours of the morning.

"Bearing this in mind we are asking that if you see anyone acting suspiciously, especially in the early hours to ring 101 to report. Use 999 if someone is in danger or the offence is ongoing.

"If you have CCTV that covers the areas near to the offences listed or the footpaths going to and from them, please check any recordings in case you have caught images of any possible offenders."

They added anyone with any information about recent thefts can call 101 or email on alcestersouth.snt@warwickshire.pnn.police.uk.
