A CHOIR with singers from across the region is set to feature on the new Susan Boyle album.
The Rock Choir, which has members from Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and Redditch, feature on the single, a Million Dreams, a cover song featured in the Greatest Showman movie.
Susan Boyle performs the song as duet with West End star Michael Ball on the new album, which is called Ten.
Rock Choir leader Christa Hugo was approached by the record producer and asked if the members wanted to sing on the track in August 2018.
She said: “It was really exciting, it was all very top secret because it hadn’t been announced yet that Susan Boyle was even doing a new album.”
Boyle and Ball made a surprise visit to the studio to meet the choir when they were recording their vocals.
Christa Hugo added: “She came down specially to see us because she wanted to experience and hear the choir herself.
“Michael Ball came in as well to say hello and had some photos with the choir.”
The 17-track album is to be released as a ten-year celebration of Boyle’s first appearance on Britain's Got Talent.
It will feature unreleased material and cover songs including I Dreamed a Dream, a revisit to her performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Rock Choir is the UK’s largest contemporary choir with more than 20,000 members and over 300 groups nationwide.
The single is expected to be released on Saturday May 11 and the album on Friday May 31.
