Car enthusiasts are getting revved up for the Ragley Hall Motor Show over Bank Holiday weekend.

Up to 1,000 vehicles are expected to be on display over the two days including pre and post war vehicles, American muscle, kit and custom cars, classic motorcycles and commercial vehicles.

The show takes place in the grounds of Ragley Hall, near Alcester, on Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27.

Gemini Events director Stephen Smith said: “Set in 400 acres of parkland, woodland and gardens, Ragley Hall is one of our favourite venues and our thanks go to the Marquess and Marchioness of Hertford for allowing us to bring the Motor Show to this stunning location.”

Ragley Hall Motor Show, sponsored by ClassicLine, will welcome 30 motoring clubs with an eclectic line-up of vehicles from the Alfa Romeo Owners Club to Yesterday’s Caravans.

Local groups represented including the Birmingham RS Owners Club, Custom Classics Leicester, Potteries Morris Minor Owners Club, Black Country Classics, Leicester Classic Car Enthusiasts, Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club West Midlands, and Worcester MG Owners Club.

Private entries range from Sandra Harris’ 1937 Austin 7 Box Saloon to Colin Bailey’s 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. All decades in between are represented with a fantastic mix of marques including Trevor Brotherton’s 1944 Fordson WOT, Tim Densham’s 1953 Healey Tickford, Cliff Wakelin’s 1974 Gentry TF1300, Terrance Oxley’s 1979 Dax Tojeiro, and John Slater’s 1986 Irish Clan.

On Bank Holiday Monday, there will be several celebrations of the marques reaching significant milestones, with 60 years of the Mini, 50 years of the Ford Capri, plus 30 years of the Mazda MX5.

Owners of these vehicles can enjoy half price admission on Bank Holiday Monday – just say ‘It’s my Birthday!’ on arrival to gain entry for just £5 for Adults and £2 for children.

The Live Arena will include car parades and family games as well as the popular ‘Decibel Duel’, a competition to find the loudest engine.

There will also be Daily Driver and Pride of Ownership competition, with the overall winner receiving a year’s free insurance from ClassicLine. There will also be the annual Concours which culminates in the ‘Best in Show’ award at 4pm.

Visitors will be entertained with live music from vintage vocalist Carrie-Anne Lawson on Sunday along with performances from SJP Theatre Arts. On Bank Holiday Monday, it’s the Mods versus the Rockers as The Quik Beats battle against The Delray Rockets.

There is also trader and autojumble stands for all those after a Bank Holiday bargain along with vintage rides for the younger visitors.
