KIDDERMINSTER Museum of Carpet have weaved together a programme of events this summer to delight enthusiasts.

The museum is currently running the 'Woven Forms: Breaking the Boundaries' exhibition, featuring the work of weaving artist Jan Bowman, that was previously seen at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

The exhibition is open now and run throughout the summer until Saturday, September 28.

This is the first time Bowman's work has appeared in the Midlands, and the sculptural installation aims to challenge the conventional limits of weaving by using other materials than wool and cotton, such as copper and stainless steel wire.

The museum will host a number of events in connection with the main exhibition.

Bowman herself will hold a lecture at the museum to speak about her work and techniques on Friday, July 26 at 2pm.

Other events include a Ply Split Braiding Workshop held by expert Julie Hedges on Wednesday, July 10 from 10am, a Vintage Memory Roll Workshop on Tuesday, July 23 from 10am, Weaving Workshops on August 6, 7, and 8, as well as the Paper Cut Workshop on Thursday, August 22 from 10am.

There will also be a Design Archive Talk on Thursday, September 19 from 10.30am.

People can book to attend these events and workshops by contacting the museum by calling 01562 69038.
